Replacing TouchWiz Launcher

G'day,

I'm wondering if anyone has tried replacing the touchwiz launcher with the official one yet? Hoping to slowly change the modaco rom to be more vanilla (in other news, anyone else noticed that the default screen unlock mechanism is too sensitive?)

I've read on other forums that it has been done.. so it is possible.

Just download and install another launcher: Launcher Pro, ADW Launcher, etc..

Someone could even try the default Eclair launcher, isn't this one already installed on the device?

I'm using Launcher Pro, but I guess I will try and grab the Android source and compile my own.. Thanks.

I've tried using Launcher2 (The Nexus one) but the icons are all corrupted :angry:

oop, I just tried the one from here and it worked fine.

Launcher Pro is still way faster though.

I agree that a more AOSP/vanilla feel is desirable.

I'm using ADW on my SGS. Frickin' awesome. I believe it's what cyanogen's using on his N1 and other ROMS.

I just purchased Launcher Pro ($2.99) and like it alot. So far no problems and it's fast.
