Guest TheMrMay Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 (edited) I've updated my Hero to 2.1 r5, but I've got an issue: Accounts & Sync never opens (always FCs) Whenever I install an app, my internal memory decreases by the size of that app. So APPS2SD isn't working? edit: problem solved after complete wipe and reflash of ROM. Guest cdmackay Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) I've updated my Hero to 2.1 r5, but have had a few issues. Accounts & Sync never opens, always FCs, beebplayer didn't get installed, even though it was selected in the kitchen. However, here is the biggest conundrum. Whenever I install an app, my internal memory decreases by the size of that app. I have around 20 apps installed, and my internal memory is at 54mb! Surely this means A2SD isn't working? Yet, when I use the commands ls -l /data and busybox df -h via a terminal emulator, everything seems fine; indicating A2SD is working. (I've included some images to show this.) I partitioned my SD correctly, and in the right order. So what have I done wrong? I imagine this is because your Dalvik cache is still on the phone, as is /data/data, the latter being where apps' data is stored. You can move the Dalvik cache to SD, using Apps2SD+ (or even manually perhaps); I'm having to do this now, as with 250-odd apps, I'm out of space in /data even with Apps2SD, because of a 95MB Dalvik cache. Try: du -sk /data/dalvik-cache /data/data and you'll see where most of your space is going. Edited July 14, 2010 by cdmackay
