Noobish question: Modded ROM and official updates

Just to be sure, I'm using Pauls ROM on my desire and i was wondering how that would go with the official 2.2 update HTC is about to release.

Will I have to put the stock rom back or can i just update ?

I'm kinda putting off the 2.2 ROM thats in the kitchen right now.

when the official ROM comes out paul will put it up online and it will be rooted. All you'll have to do is to flash it. whether you will have to wipe and update that will have to be seen later on but you can backup your stuff and update.

You wont be able to directly do the OTA update.

Thanks, need to wipe anyways because of a new SD i want to use but thats not really a problem.

Now to wait for the update :-)
