FLB-MOD 3G issues

I want to fix the 3G issues affecting some users.

Could you please post with the following:

Phone type - Pulse, U8220, U8220-6, U8230

Country - Country the phone is being used in

Network - The phone network operator

Working on any other roms - Any roms 3G works on? Please mention here

WiFi working? - Yes or no

Working on any other roms - Any roms 3G work fine. (default rom, FLB-mod v1.0) (APN - manual config)

WiFi working? - No, but i fix it.

In default rom (White Russia Life :D 2.1) Wifi is work. In all custom ROM (FLB and etc.), wifi don't work.

It because default ROM have folder

/system/cust/life

/data/cust/wifi

i copy this folder to FLB-mod v1.0 and Wifi is Work

Ok so to fix wifi you replace the wifi folder with folder from White Russia. Interesting. I will download this rom and look at the files.

Ah thats the one that has been trimmed to fit on 1.5 partitions. So maybe the 2.1 t-mobile update flashed some hardware which stopped it supporting the 3G frequencies in your country. Maybe.

Have you tried flashing with the Tre rom and seeing if that fixes 3g? It is a long shot really but there must be some rom that will get 3g working for you.

Incidentally does anybody know exactly what part of the phone controls 3G and how you can modify it?

I already did that immediately after TRE was launched and no success, but I expected that behavior due to differents frequencies

Hm, the people without working 3G are all using operators than use UMTS 1900MHz

2100MHz is used in Asia and Europe. The Pulse doesn't support 1900MHz which is why libril-qc-1.so doesn't have support for 1900. So we need a copy of libril-qc-1.so with support for 1900 which will work on Huawei devices running 2.1

I don't understand why O2 isn't working on this release. I haven't made any changes to the radio at all. I guess what you could do is flash the boot.img from FLB 1.0 beta5.1 using fastboot and see if that fixes 3G for you? If it does then there is something weird about the Tre kernel.

Edit: I've made a small flashable update which will downgrade the kernel to the T-Mobile version. This won't fix 3G issues for people that have never had working 3G with any 2.1 ROM but, if you had 3G working on older FLB versions, this should help you.

It contains the fixed startup scripts I edited along with the older kernel. Please try this and report back if it's worked or not. I can't find my Tesco sim card to test (they use O2 so would have been perfect).

It needs to be a 2.1 rom. So until Huawei release 2.1 for South America it'll be a problem :)
