Guest ManOfSteal Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 I occasionally find playback is messed up, with the player either stopping or skipping forward, presumably because the connection from my headphones (with no remote option) has changed (because of movement, there's no audible intermittent audio connection on my headphones) for a fraction of a second and is misinterpreted as a stop/next button press. This would be because the software perceives a momentary change in impedance on the ground connection (ground on normal headphones, an extra ring is used for controlling with the supplied earphones), which, if it's the case, would be bad design, with no hysteresis used (improbable, but possible). I'll be interested to know if anyone else has experienced this. I've tried various MP3 players, some of which give the option to disable 'headset commands', but I see no sign of this for the HTC player. Is this also the case for the stock player with Froyo?
Guest RiotRick Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 There is a free widget that can block the headset buttons. Seems to work fine with the htc and stock player. http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.idunnolol.headsetblocker
