saw this website, followed the instructions and baaaam black screen. the read all the post below, and seems everyone getting bricked. just a warning for everyone.....

all i get is a quick vibate and acer logo, then completly black. i was on the latest official acer 2.1 rom that came out yesterday :) ... waited 6 months for that rom and now bricked phone really sux.....

p.s if anyone can help me, would be much appreciated... what can i try to get out of this??

my rom was the latest official 2.1 rom ..... EUU_Acer_LiquidE_1.100.39_EMEA-GEN1_04.02.02

eidt sorry i haent got it in recovery mode, i only managed to get it into bootloader mode, it recognizes there is a device there, coz pdanet says device connected BUT i can see my SD card at all. so i cant flash anything on it

Now your in recovery mode you should be able to flash via the acer download tool or by running setup from official rom

i figured thats what u meant, problem is, when i run the setup.exe file... i get to the part where it says

"current image version": N/a

this means my computer cant see my acer.... :)

but previosly my computer can see my device acer fine...

I'M NOT SURE IF THIS WILL WORK, it's just what I'd do if I were in your shoes.

Grab LCR 1.7 from its website (you can find it in the related thread), rename it as update.zip and take it into the sdcard of your phone (by unplugging it, removing sdcard and doing all the stuff from your computer).

After that, insert the sdcard and reboot in recovery mode. If I'm not wrong the standard recovery automatically flashes everything that's called update.zip in the sdcard. If it works, you should have a working OS mode for your phone and reflash everything from there.

i already got it in recover mode... the flashing bar on top.... but now how do i apply the rom if my pc cant see my acer phone?

i tried the 94mb lcr 1.7, renamed it to update and put it on the root of the SD card.... but when i put it in and put it in recovery mode, it just flashed the bar, doesnt seem to be doing anything other than waiting for some user input

That's because you rebooted in bootloader mode and not recovery mode.

IIRC, you have to unplug your phone (be sure it has at least 30% of charge), turn it off and press camera + volume down + power button. The phone will vibrate two times and after a couple of seconds it will boot in recovery mode.

Try this:

-pull out you battery

-attach your usb cable

-when the battery icon appear plug-in the battery again and press camera + <(Back) + Power

-now you should be in Bootloader mode

-pull out the usb cable

-Now try again to flash the Official Eclair ROM (plug the USB cable only when the software ask for it)

This worked fine for me when i used the old Superboot image

We could try some tricks from there (it has an option to unroot the phone and also you could try to wipe the data).You could try to install it

hmmm for some reason my phone started again, but LCR rom happen to install on it. hahahahaha so all good now. so relieved.

my phone was gone for a few hours, made me look around for a new phone but nothing interest me yet, made me appreciate my acer even more now. hahaha

The guide from website is ok, you have flashed wrong boot.img.

Please tell us what version of Rom you have installed?
