Guest sml12 Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 (edited) START - Liquid with 1.6 - stock no tweaks. 1. I downloaded & installed the Acer UU from this thread OS_Acer_1.100.39.EMEA.GEN1_A21E_A1 2. Connected Liquid and attempted to flash 3. About halfway through the UU crashes and the 'Send Report to Microsoft' window appears. Phone says: - erasing 'setupdata' - OKAY - erasing 'cache' - OKAY - erasing 'boot' - OKAY - writing 'boot' (2371584 bytes) verify.. verify.. - OKAY - erasing 'boot' - OKAY then there is just a flashing bar at the top. 4. Follow the Acer directions to try again pressing the camera & volume button and reconnecting. 5. Same crash happens. EDIT - I am using VirtualBox to run XP on a MAC. Edited July 10, 2010 by sml12

Not recommending to use Virtual Box actually :) Maybe that's the reason why it crashed
Guest sml12 Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 Not recommending to use Virtual Box actually :) Maybe that's the reason why it crashed Yes correct! Thanks. Note that you cannot just resolve by going to another Winblows PC because when you run the Acer tool, you are locked on the first page trying to find a nice BIN image on the phone .. but obviously that has been erased and messed up with the failed install. So copy the Acer files from the virtual PC onto your real PC. Rerun the Acer tool, then it takes you straight to the recovery page asking you to press VOLUME UP & CAMERA and plug-in.
Guest alfarobl Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 Using VMWare Fusion on Mac worked for me.
