Extract rom from official update?

How can I extract a rom from an official update??

The update was a .msi file, that i extracted.

Inside there were a lot of useless files and a file called "acer_MergedOSFile.bin".

Could that file contain the rom??

The rom I want is the official 2.1 update for my S100 (A1). I can't install it using the regular updater, because it says my phone is CUS2 an the rom is GEN1. I think this is odd because I live in the Netherlands.

Please help.

Thanks.

So i just use that bin file with the Acer Tool?

Do I have to make any special preparations.

My phone is still unrooted and I'm completely new to flashing.

Could you also tell me how to use Acer Tool?

Thanks.

Acer tool is straight forward, Run, Chose BIN, Click Flash or Start.

The phone is just on, no need for recovery or boot loader.

Only precaution have a backup of you SMS and calls log, if you want to.

My question if any can help, how to extract a BIN file,

tried all the cd mount stuff (Deamon, Magic disc and ISO), nothing helped

Download UniExtract and have it extract the .msi file with its default method (Administrative install).

The contents of the msi file will be extracted to a separate folder.

In that folder are a few other folders, and one of them contains the BIN.

well, I need to extract the BIN file itself, so I can use individual applications. need an APP from an old ROM

1) Connect your liquid

2) Start Acer Tool and press flash

3) Disconnect device fast

4) Go to where you have installed Acer Tools and search for folder inside SDAPPZ or something like this - it contain bin conent including system.img in yff2 format.
