GEN1 rom on CUS2 device

Can I install a GEN1 rom on a CUS2 device?

I want to install the new 2.1 update for my Liquid S100 (A1), but it is a CUS2 device. I haven't rooted it yet.

CUS2 = Belgium

GEN1 = Rest of Europe

Strangely, I live in the Netherlands, but the updater from the acer website says I have a CUS2 device, which doesn't have an official update for 2.1 yet.

Anyone help?

Flash first an old GEN1 .bin with Acer Tool, and then Official ROM

Very smart!

I haven't thought of that yet!

Do you know where i can find an official 1.6 GEN1 rom bin???

Thanks

Edit:

By the way, do I have to make preparations to use Acer Tool?

I never rooted my phone, and I've never used Acer Tool before.

Could you please explain how to use it in a noob-friendly way?

Thanks a lot.

You don't need root.

Download this:

http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/OS...&SC=EMEA_17

Instructions inside :)

It didn't work.

At first it seemed to work, but after about 20sec, I got the message: "OS File not match, Now stop the whole process.".

After that, the program just quit.

Any other solutions?

I'm willing to do complicated things. I'm going on a holiday the 16th and i really want 2.1 before then.

Thanks again,

Restart the 2.000.16 setup, and when flashing (it will says OS incompatible etc)

go to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Acer Inc\Acer Liquid Tool\USB Download Tool\Acer_A1_Bin

and copy Acer_MergeFile.bin or something like that in another folder

then, download this

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1026286/A1_DL_Tool...00_20091027.zip

start ACER Download Tool [single].exe and browse for the bin you have selected and flash

then flash 1.100.39

(i read that flashing 1.100.39 bin with old acer tool doesn't work anymore)

It worked!!! Thanks a lot!

By the way, I coulden't find the file you specified, but I used UniExtract to extract that file from the .msi installer.

Thanks again, problem solved!
