Acer Upgrade Utility - Recovery - URGENT :(

Tried to flash my 1.6 liquid and it failed.

I tried again with a different computer but I cannot get past the first screen because the utility does not recognize the current image version. The NEXT button is greyed out. So I need to try in the 'Failed Install' section of the Upgrade Utility.

With a new computer, how can I get to the recovery section of the Upgrade Utility where you can press CAMERA + Volume Up to try again?

(In the C:/Program Files/.. liquid etc etc there is a folder for the liquid 'RestartProgram' .. but I cannot open the exe directly from here.)

um...first thing first, the upgrade utility you mean, acer download tool?

if yes, then you could try flash again and again till you have a successful one. :)

i tried that for 6 hours BUT as per my original post ....

QUOTE ... "but I cannot get past the first screen because the utility does not recognize the current image version" ie ... because the image was erased in the first unsuccessful attempt.

SOLUTION ..

The screwed up flash was on a virtual XP install - obviously I have reconfirmed this does not work. When trying each time, the tool knew my previous attempt was screwed and took me to the second window suggesting to press VOLUME UP & CAMERA buttons etc. Tried to reflash but failed again & again.

When I eventually found a Winblows XP PC, as per my post above, I was stuck at the front page of the Acer tool waiting to recognise the image. Obviously there was no image because everything was erased & a mess after the unsuccessful flash. The NEXT button was greyed out so I was screwed.

So .. I went back into the virtual XP, copied the Acer files in the program directory, then dropped these into the real XP PC, re-ran the Acer install tool and it opened up on the Acer recovery flash page not the original page where it checks the phone for a nice BIN! yay! Held down VOLUME UP & CAMERA, connected USB, reflash and all good.
