Enabling boot animation sound?

Is there any way to enable boot sounds on the N1? If I remember correctly, it worked in the MCR Desire port if you selected it in the kitchen but is there any way to enable it for other roms? I tried pushing android_audio.mp3 to /data/local/ and /system/media/ but neither work.

Look at FroyoDesire2Nexus-ALPHA3 rom, he managed it, I don't know how.

I am sure there will be an htc*.mp3 file...

Could also be something in the bootloader zip. We may have to take a look at other bootloaders to see if it's in the bootloader info file.

I also tried pushing two different bootanimation binaries to /system/bin and setting the permissions. Doing this, however, prevented the boot animation from loading at all :-\

If I remember correctly, there are two different versions of desc.txt - one WITH sound and one without.... :)

I think the android_audio.mp3 is supposed to play as long as "android" is one of the lines in the desc.txt. I think it's because the bootanimation binary in /system/bin/ doesn't load the audio. However, I haven't had any luck getting other binaries to work :D
