Guest whyleya Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Morning all, I've followed the Risk Free rooting guide and all has gone through ok. How can I check it is rooted? When installing Titanium Backup it says it isn't. Thanks
Guest mortenmhp Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 If you have followed the guide and flashed the update.zip in the end, it should be fine. Easiest way to find out is to see if you have the superuser app when you look through your apps. When you open titanium backup you should get a popup from the superuser app asking if titanium backup should be allowed su.
Guest whyleya Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) Yea I did just that but it fails. I followed the guide step by step. Was originally on 1.21 unrooted with HBOOT 0.80 so downloaded the correct file. I'm now running 1.15 again but root access isn't available? Edited July 12, 2010 by whyleya
Guest whyleya Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Just gone through the process again. Should it say 'Paul's Risk Free Root' or something similar when I check the software information? It doesn't say that. It's as though it's just installed a stock ROM. Major confused....

I think your suppose to flash a Rom using Rom Manager or fake flash after you root the phone, This may be part of the issue. I personally used O'clocks rom but the preferred on here seems to be pauls MCR rom.

When installing Titanium Backup it says it isn't. Thanks When you open Titanium backup and it says your not rooted, click on "problems?" It will offer to update BusyBox. Let it and go through the installation. It should work ok now. It did the exact same to me when i first rooted and said i wasnt. Hope this works! :)
Guest mortenmhp Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 yes either that or just go get mcr r3.1 right away as it have som nice tweaks and come with all the root stuff as busybox, su and a2sd+ :)
Guest whyleya Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Sorted it thanks. Titanium backup just didn't like it. I went ahead with MCR 3.1 and all is working fine :-) Thanks again.
