Best way to backup Apps and Settings when upgrading Modaco roms?

Hi,

Was just wondering what the best method is to restore apps and general phone settings when doing minor updates to the same rom?

I know Titanium Backup would porobably work but would this restore too many files and such voiding the rom update?

titanium has more than backup all settings, you can backup just apps without data,

there may be other apps but i have only tried titanium i got the donate version works great.
