Edited July 12, 2010 by KiSUAN
Guest SonMauri Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 (edited) Como dices, Kisuan? Note: This guy is saying that he managed to get 3G and everything else working by copying some old files over the FLB mod... Edited July 13, 2010 by SonMauri
Guest GregorioUY Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Como dices, Kisuan? Note: This guy is saying that he managed to get 3G and everything else working by copying some old files over the FLB mod... Newbie here, from Uruguay, about to buy an U8220-6. I think that Uruguay's Ancel provider 3G works on the same freq as the famous Hungarian Mod, on another post someone explained it check this list and compare freqs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UMTS_networks T-Mobile Hungary 2100 Claro Chile 1900 Entel PCS Chile 1900 Movistar Chile 850/1900 Ancel Uruguay 2100 Claro Uruguay 1900 Movistar Uruguay 850/1900 So bottomline, I'm screwed because I wanted to use it on Movistar Uruguay,my current provider, but will try to get some answers Should I translate to spanish? Quieren q traduzca
Guest MarcusHenrique Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Hi, I'm from Brasil, I'll speak english because my spanish s*cks. If needed someone will translate me for sure. So, I also have a U8220-6 with CTBC Telecom. And I never, really never, had problems with 3G in any rom. I advise you guys to: First: Forget Hungarian update, flash the latest switzerland update instead, it's by far better, and much more suitable for our mobiles. Second: Look for other possible causes for loosing your 3G connectivity, I'm seeing that most people with this problem are from Chile. Maybe, and just maybe, your 3G cover isn't very good. You can also check wich 3G frequency your operator runs at, maybe the rom only supports 1900mhz and your operator is @ 2100mhz. Buena Suerte para usted!
Guest MarcusHenrique Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Gregorio: 850 is GSM freq, your operator also runs at 1900 3G freq.
Guest GregorioUY Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Gregorio: 850 is GSM freq, your operator also runs at 1900 3G freq. Ok, but still is not 2100, so 2.1 Hungary ROM is a big NO-NO I'll really would like to ditch my current Nokia, but want to check things first.
Guest MarcusHenrique Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Ok, but still is not 2100, so 2.1 Hungary ROM is a big NO-NO I'll really would like to ditch my current Nokia, but want to check things first. That's why I said to people flash Switzerland's newest update. That one runs 1900 and 2100mhz freqs.
Guest GregorioUY Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 That's why I said to people flash Switzerland's newest update. That one runs 1900 and 2100mhz freqs. Is that 2.1? Sorry for the trouble, but I REEEEAAALLLYYY want to get an Android phone. Also, do you know if I unlock my phone, then flash , do I lose the unlock?
Guest MarcusHenrique Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Is that 2.1? Sorry for the trouble, but I REEEEAAALLLYYY want to get an Android phone. Also, do you know if I unlock my phone, then flash , do I lose the unlock? It's 2.1, and no, you won't loose your unlock :)

Note: This guy is saying that he managed to get 3G and everything else working by copying some old files over the FLB mod... Were i can find the Swiss update Marcus? Edited July 13, 2010 by KiSUAN
Guest MarcusHenrique Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 KiSUAN: you can look for a working link in this thread: http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...h-operator-tre/ locolc: So you are running TRE update and still no 3G? That's why I said there's something wrong with your operator. Because I've seen US users with U8220-6 running 2.1 at 1900mhz.

Marcus, thanks for everything, but a question: is a switzerland update, or sweden update. Is not the same (or is it?)
Guest MarcusHenrique Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Marcus, thanks for everything, but a question: is a switzerland update, or sweden update. Is not the same (or is it?) Hah! You got me there! :D I think it's the same, but I'm a bit lazy right now to google for a confirmation :)

Saludos y gracias
Guest il_cholo Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 the latinoamerican people who has 3G with all 2.1 roms (Hungarian, TRE, FLB) is because their operators has the same frequencies as in HU or SWE. people from chile and argentina (this is where I am) cannot use 3G because of differents UMTS frequencies. all information is on gsmarena at http://www.gsmarena.com/network-bands.php3 until we get a 2.1 latinoamerican official rom nothing can be done for us except to those countries with same frequencies. nikkodonatte no hay garmin para android, podes usar igomyway o motonav

(but the rest runs flawlessly!)
