Hey guys :),

Im gonna tel u first what I did with my phone. I had the Modaco 3.1 running on my Desire, at this time I was aldready bugged with some weird restarts from time to time, anyway I decided to flash new DJ Droid Froyo ROM, just to see how good it works. So before this I wanted to make a backup of my Stuff with Titanium, and well here my drama began...

In the middle of the backup, my phone just rebooted and kept doing it, pulled the battery a few times and tried it again n again, no point. So I flashed the DJ Droid ROM without making a backup, everything went well but then either the phone rebooted in the mainscreen or bit farther, or it didnt even came that far. So I tried n tried everything, after wiping, flashing on and on I gave up and wanted to my Modaco back, but yeah I couldnt. I had the same problems with the rebooting and stucking, if I got to the mainscreen its just needed a bit and I had a reboot again! I tried a few roms and it was alawys the same. Tried a few radios, stil the same.

After trying the whole day and evening it only got worse! Before my phone at least booted from time to time til the mainscreen, but also the problem began that I couldnt reach the Recovery menu! And now suddenly I cant do BOTH!! I donno what Ive done different then before, but now I cant do both.

So to make the facts short :

1) I wiped always everything

2) Tried a few ROMS (always followed the instructions, especially the new DJ Droid stuff with new Radio)

3) Flashed a few radios

The generel Problem of the phone is that its ever always reboot, bootloop or its just stuck at different points of booting, or more it stucked, because now the only thing whats show up is the white background with the green HTC, thats it! I can access the HBOOT, but if I want to open the RECOVERY the white background with the green HTC comes again.

I dont know what to do anymore, is it me or does the phone have a hardware problem?

Is there a possibility to flash a clean rom again or to access the recovery mode somehow?

My plan was to unroot my phone again (warranty), but as you can see it only got worse, for now I would be happy to do one of both things up there, better both so I can unroot...

I hope you guys can rescue my ass

Thank you in advance

Can you get into fastboot? If you can, run an official RUU and return your phone to stock.

I had almost the same problem after a bad recovery of an archived ROM (with RomManager): stuck at the HTC logo, no boot possible. I could go to the recovery, but flashing anything led to the same point. I decided to re-apply the r6 rooting method since it re-flash a lot of things, and it worked.

So, the idea of going into FASTBOOT and applying a full standard RUU Rom seems to be a good idea, since it will re-flash everything you need, as the rooting procedure did for me.

So, to your questions, yes I can enter fastboot! I tried to flash the original RUU.

I entered fastboot, typed "fastboot-windows.exe oem rebootRUU" and then started the RUU Flash.

This two RUU´s :

RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.3_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_121865 -> This one says to me : Bad Customer ID Error 131

and

RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_sign

d -> This one stucks at "waiting for bootloader".

Once in Fastboot you don't need to do anything else - just connect your phone, wait until it says FASTBOOT USB and run the RUU your phone came with originally (or put a Goldcard in to run a generic one)

Had to do this myself last night after getting stuck on white HTC screen

So guys,

as u told me I tried the RUU stuff, didnt work. Its keep saying ERROR 131 (I made a new goldcard, using my goldcard.img) or its stuck in reboot bootloader!

Then I tried the r6 reroot stuff, step 1 worked, with a ID error, step two -> I got finally again since hours in recovery once, but when I wanted to install "update.zip" (step 2) it kept saying this : cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 .

Now, I got one more Problem. I wanted to charge my battery, but if I put the cable in the phone, doesnt matter if PC or Powersupply the phone boots and ends in the HTC logo loop again.

Hell I donno whats going on ???

If it's a branded phone try the provider RUU ... then unbrand afterwords

The RUU method doesnt work, the only thing whats working so far is the HBOOT menu and FASTBOOT, the other stuff like I mentioned dont.

I tried a few different RUU, always different errors, once I got a bit further but then it failed because of a "Signature fail" or sth. like this.

I just tried to flash my nandroid system.img, data.img and boot.img through fastboot, its uploading all of them but when it comes to the WRITING part all three say the same, for example:

sending ´boot´ <2560KB>... OKAY

writing ´boot´... INFOSignature checking...

FAILED <remote: 12 signature verify fail>

Thats the current status, my ideas get less and less :/

If you haven't tried this yet.... This is what I would try..

Uninstall HTC sync and other sync drivers from the PC

RE-install HTC sync

Download the Branded and the latest WWE RUU (just to try them both if BRANDED doesn't work)

Enter HBOOT, let it do it's thing... then plug in the phone.

Let the PC detect the phone, make sure drivers are installed and working

Run the RUU (I would pick the branded first)

Just my 5c

I didnt do it exactly like u told me above, buuuut I tried it with my other PC! I was pretty surprised, I didnt work so far, but it went through without stucking - like on my laptop (The RUU Software, and stuck in this situation, that I had to boot in fastboot several times til the RUU Installation started). I think Im a bit closer to get the RUU work, but now I have another Problem, my battery is apperantly under 30%, this is what 5 of 6 RUU told me , the other one didnt work.

I really would like to know how the problem with my Battery and the charging happened. To make it clear whats wrong / happening:

When I plug in the the USB cable into my Desire, the LED start to blink, orange and green, in the moment I put my battery in my Desire, it switches on / boots and i I get the white HTC logo with loop, this happens with power supply or USB, both. The blinking of the LED is the same as u would plug in the cable and try to get into the HBOOT menu without a battery.

Anyway I somehow have to find a solution to charge my battery, if someone doesnt have a solution for my current situation.

From what you described in the highlighted.... Thats what mine did when I had the USB-brick issue...

I thought about this USB Brick too, so I followed the tutorial here

.

I tried it under windows and then the Linux tiny core distribution, both seemed not to work. Phone kept still having the charging problem, so I kind of gave up for now, but then u told me that u had this issue with the USB Brick, at least now I know what it seems to be . Anyway with a bit hope I wanted to try the USB Brick fix which is is posted here at modaco

Now here we go, I wanted to boot into HBOOT, so I knew when I put the cable in my phone, it boots immediatly, so I was holding the Volume- button and tada my phone is CHARGING!!! lol, guys dont ask me why, I just was trying to flash the mdt0 stuff etc., seemed not to work before so my phone was lying a bit around. Its currently charging on my laptop, thought about pulling it out and putting it on the power adapter, but hell maybe this is just a coincidence so Im gonna let it charge til its full and try first the RUU again, good that I have to work later, I have a patience problem :DD. Gonna post in the late evening after work the status.

And btw thank all u guys for trying to help me! Appreciate it!

ITS DONE !!!!!))

So first of all guys, thank u for helping me! Second, I dont know exactly why in the end it worked!

I did the stuff which I mentioned earlier, so the last step before it worked (the charging of battery) was that I tried to unbrick USB with this method " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691639 ", as I told u.

One of many problems I had was always, that later on the RUU software couldnt detect the current Software Version! It always said sth. like "cant... too many links... Failed". Another big problem was, that because of the USB Brick I guess, I couldnt access the SD card in recovery, if recovery worked (not really often). Anyway after the sudden fact that I could charge my phone with the laptop, I tried to charge it with the powersuply, worked aswell! Then I took the chance and immediatly used this version of unbrickin USB " http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desi...d-b0rked-fixed/ ". To my surprise it flashed it under recovery without problem. After doing this I started the RUU o2 (Warranty), and yeah because of this version flaw before I didnt needed to edit mdt0.img etc.. So this time RUU flashed everything without an issue! AWESOME!

So my Desire is working again and Ive got my Warranty back!

This is important because I think my Desire is kind of damaged. Its just rebooting on its own, with a complete wiped and reinstalled Software. This is pretty much the reason I got all this disaster! Its definitely wasnt my fault, once u know how to flash, its pretty easy. Anyway it worked after the third boot, I setup some stuff etc., but after I turned it off and on again, it looped often and I had to try a few times, now I dont even come over the HTC Boot Logo again, even though I installed the RUU three times in a row! So despite the fact that my Desire stil doesnt work proper, Im happy to have a clean unrooted branded Phone - student budget ;)-

I think its not normal how my Desire behave, am I right?

So I think Im gonna send it back the next days :D
