Guest arunshen Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 I'd quite like to try running Vanilla Android on my Hero. Current running MCR4 r5, but would like to try without remove Rosie altogether. Anyone know to disable Rosie on MCR4 r5 (2.1)? FWIW: I tried 'Clear Default' in Applications - HTC Sense, with a Force Stop on HTC Sense - just launched Rosie when I hit Home. I also tried 'Clear Data' but that just lost my Rosie homescreen customisations.

Just select 'clear defaults' in HTC Sense and press 'Home' and select 'Home' option as your default or download Launcher Pro from Market which I highly recommend and do the same for Launcher Pro. Guest arunshen Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 just tried that again - in fact, 'Clear defaults' is now greyed out, states 'no defaults set'. When I press Home, it just starts Sense per normal ... ideas?
Guest descenpet Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 it seems the vanilla "home" is not included in R5. well at least i can't find it in my manage applications list. if you don't have any other alternative home application such as adw or launcher pro or helix, sense will just launch.
Guest Dr. dre Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Sorry I forgot you don't have Home on 2.1, so you can download Launcher Pro from Market and then do the same.
Guest Alastyr Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 I'm running this ROM with Launcher Pro instead of Sense and I know it works. :-)
Guest arunshen Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) ok, tried Launcher Pro & ADW - LP looks pretty good, I preferred it over ADW. Anyone know how to get the HTC Calendar and Twitter widets working on a non-Sense UI? Is it even possible? Edited July 14, 2010 by arunshen
