Guest Epic-Emodude Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Hi all, On the My T-mobile website I noticed I have the option to change my PAYG price plan to Text Appeal PAYG. Does anyone know how this differs from the standard one and what advantages/disadvantages there are and what difference it will make? Thanx Aaron
Guest OPTICAL BOOM Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Text appeal makes all texts to any network cost only 3p XD its what im on now.

Guest Saliema Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 I am on text appeal, and the 6 month for £20 internet deal works fine... I just started my second six month about 3 weeks ago and it registered fine then.
Guest Stevos Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 I've been happy on my (T Mo UK) PAYG plan, with essentially almost free internet and text use (via the top-up boosters.) My usage pattern is likely to change now to include more calls (mainly cross network to mobiles.) Is anyone managing to do this in a cost effective way via boosters or would I be better to start looking at a cheap contract?
Guest Stevos Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Text appeal makes all texts to any network cost only 3p XD its what im on now. It's worth noting that it seems to make other things more expensive, it's not beneficial to everyone. Eg. calls to T Mobile phones go from 8p/min on standard PAYG to 20p/min on "text appeal" There seems to be limited info available on the plan. Calls to T Mobile network: PAYG: 8p/min Text Appeal: 20p/min Calls to other networks: PAYG: 25p/min Text appeal: 25p/min SMS to T Mobile nework: PAYG: 5p Text Appeal: 3p SMS to other networks: PAYG: 10p Text Appeal: 3p There may be other differences. For many people the topup boosters will give them free texts on standard PAYG which might mean that the cheaper text rate on "text appeal" mean less to them.

Guest Stevos Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) How do you get unlimited texts thuogh boosters? On standard PAYG when I top up £10 within a month I automatically get "unlimited" free texts and internet for the next month. - it happens automatically. It doesn't require spending the £10 credit, it just needs to be added to the account. It's a great deal as long as you remember to top up within each month. Unfortunately now my pattern of use is changing to need more calls, I'm finding that the £10/month credit doesn't go far at 25p per minute for calls. I imagine there isn't a budget way of getting (cross network) calls on PAYG or eveyone would be doing it instead of a contract. Edited July 14, 2010 by Stevos

Thanx for the help Aaron Do you get a notification when the sixmonthinternet is about to run out? I bought mine in I think Feb, but can't remember. Must be just about to run out.
Guest Epic-Emodude Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Hi, Could someone please tell me how to change the plan as I have tried online and it says it is unavailable. Thanx Aaron
Guest Stevos Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 (edited) I just topped up £10 and I didnt get this =( I Might aswell change to the text one. Thanx for the help Aaron Oh that is odd - I think it should be available to everyone (on T Mo UK standard PAYG anyway.) After topping up (via SMS with a registered card), I get a text confirming the topup and another confirming the free internet & text booster.) Perhaps it's only to people who top up with a card via SMS, but I don't think so. Bear in mind that when you top up £10, it's not until the start of the next calendar month that you get the free texts and internet. I probably didn't make that clear. Eg. If I top up £10 now (15 July), then for the whole of August I will get free texts and internet. If I keep topping up £10 a month I get perpetual free internet and cross network texts without spending my credit. If you topped up £10 last month, try texting "AL" (without the quotes) to 150 and it should text you back with info about which allowances / boosters you have you have (also text "BA" for balance.) I don't know if it is available on the "text appeal" plan, but it might be. I'm not convinced that plan is worthwhile as there is little information about it. Edited July 15, 2010 by Stevos

Must be just about to run out. I didn't... I had kept the confirmation text on my phone though, so I knew what day I had to buy a new 6 month booster, but then I was on holiday in Scotland at the time and forgot about it... and only realised a couple of days later when I ran out of credit (I only had about £1.50 of credit to go through anyway, so it wasn't too much of an expensive oversight !) Though £1.50 is 50 texts at 3p a time... the credit should have lasted me a week at least !
