Guest meinnit Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Is it possible to download Handcent from a friends phone onto mine? I'm having way too many FC with the new version which they don't seem to be fixing so I just want to go back to an older version.

Guest meinnit Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 use astro to backup the app then copy the apk onto your phone and install it Thanks for that. Which APK do I copy (Astro or app I want to copy?) and where do I find it?

You can also use Titanium backup to transfer app with settings and other data BUT before you use Titanium backup on any custom "not-Paul's" rom you need to upgrade busybox. You do it from the front page of titanium backup itself

Guest brack Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Thanks for your answer  I have MCR 1.7 ROM currently, do I still need to upgrade? No, MCR 1.7 is Paul's rom so it should have compatible busybox. However, upgrading will never harm, you might get some new features of busybox that newer version of Titanium uses.
Guest meinnit Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 (edited) Thanks for all of the replies. I upgraded my version of Titanium Backup from the Market as the one included with the ROM was very old. I shall try the backup and restore very soon  I'm surprised more people aren't having problems with Handcent on the Pulse. Either people aren't using Handcent or they just haven't updated to the latest version! It seems that the new version requires a lot more resources which is causing the FC and Wait message.
