help with lg gt540

Hiya

I'm new to this forum - I have been reading some of the posts regarding the LG GT540

I have a problem with mines (well my little brothers)

The problem is that, when you first go into the Android market, you have to make up a google mail account - done

the problem is that my little brother has put a lock pattern on the screen and has blocked it, now asking for the google mail address and password - which he does not know and did not write it down anywhere!!!

I can't get it to do anything stuck on this screen, went into the O2 shop today and the assistant told me to do a software update via the LG website - tried to do this however keeps saying I have the most up to date software

Not sure what else to do - not really got a clue about how else to reset the phone, really hoping that someone could maybe give me some info as to what else I can do

Any help appreciated

on the screen with the lock press and hold "Volume up + Home + Search button" for about 5-10 seconds it should ask if you want to reset phone

Had exact problem with me phone. if it weerent 4 u guys, i counldt have got me phone to work again.
