Guest Diggedy Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 I'm just curious. I've tried other launchers and I like them but do I need a Rom which has sense removed or can I just disable sense. If I just disable it will there still be some part of sense running which when coupled with the new launcher cause a higher drain on my system or do people only remove it to save space
Guest Jez_ Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 I'm just curious. I've tried other launchers and I like them but do I need a Rom which has sense removed or can I just disable sense. If I just disable it will there still be some part of sense running which when coupled with the new launcher cause a higher drain on my system or do people only remove it to save space I just don't like the look of it and prefer the stock / default Android look. Plus the HTC Sense home screen main Phone button lacks the internet button, so has less functionality - although I could add an 'internet' icon to the home screen to work around this I'd rather not have to. I've also found that the stock Android interface to be smoother than the HTC one, and I prefer the default icons.
Guest Diggedy Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Well I'm also starting to prefer the stock look but I want to keep the sense just in case I want to swap back. But I'm wondering if by leaving it installed but not using it will mean I have extra processes running or will disabling it also disable all associated background services. Are people removing it purely to save space or are there other benefits?
