Guest Peterfdevries Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 hi guys! Well, the topictitel may suggest the problem. I want to use the latest malez 0.5.4 but i've no idea how to install it. I've read their wiki page and it starts with the order 'copy recovery image to your androidsdk/tools/ folder'. Where can I find this recovery. I believe I don't have one because I recently update to the latest OFFICIAL rom from the Acer-site. Next question, do I need to install an AndroidSDK or is this operation also possible with a developmentkit?! Thanks for helping me out! Yours Sincerely Peter '
Guest HustlinDaily Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Set up ADB using this procedure- http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-se...ndroid-devices/ Then you will have a C:\AndroidSDK\tools\ , put the recovery file into that folder Follow malez's instructions
Guest Vailo Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) There is a easier way to do it without installing ADB (although it's a highly recommendable tool). I'm assuming here that you are a windows user with Acer Drivers already installed for your device. Here it goes: 0. Connect your Acer to your computer. Put your phone in USB Debugging Mode 1. Download Superboot from here. 2. Unpack Superboot.zip to a folder, let's name it SuperBoot. 3. Download malez Recovery img from here. 4. Rename malezRecovery_0.5.4.img to recovery.img and copy/ paste it into your newly extracted SuperBoot folder. OVERWRITE the already existing recovery.img file in te folder. 5. Double click "reboot-bootloader-windows.bat" while having your phone still connected. (It will reboot into a screen with a flashy-flickie bar on the top.) 6. Double click "install-recovery-windows.bat" 7. Wait some time until it reboots and your done. Congratulations! People are welcome to copy/pasta this and improve with things I missed. Edited July 15, 2010 by Vailo
Guest navygino Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 This is just a repack of Malez Recovery 0.5.4 to an autorun patch in Windows. Download here: http://www.speedyshare.com/files/23355076/...overy_0.5.4.exe 1.) Connect USD in debug mode. 2.) Run the patch. 3.) The program will reboot into bootloader and flash the recovery image and reboot again. 4.) Enjoy.

Put your phone in USB Debugging And once you are done, you can easily reboot into recovery using reboot-recovery-windows.bat or reboot-recovery-linux both in that superboot directory.
Guest dennerjw Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 The process is the first part of the installation tutorial on the lcr 1. 7 wiki... you can find it in the lcr release thread.
Guest Vailo Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Well done. Also 0. Put your phone in USB Debugging Added  navygino's guide looks alot simpler, but does things in essentially the same way :D
