Guest oxcsnicho Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 New to the forum and also to Desire... Sorry in advance for publishing silly thoughts! Just want to understand if it is possible to get the existing Asian RUU (version 1.19) to work with bootloader 0.80. My plan as follows. 1. I've already rooted my Desire 2. And installed fake-flash (ClockworkMod) and know how to use it. From there we can install any rom we want, as long as the zip archive can be "recognized". 3. I managed to obtain a "rom.zip" from the target RUU. Thought this zip seems to contain all the files that are needed to build a system, ClockworkMod's recovery rom cannot recognize this zip folder and thus cannot flash it to the device. So question here: 1. Why is the zip folder from RUU different from the zip folder we use to root the phone? Is it encrypted somehow? 2. Is there anyway to transform the RUU's rom.zip into a zip folder that we can flash with ClockworkMod's recovery? I suppose there must be some way to do this, because any rom we can now flash should ultimately come from an RUU (and released by htc)? Is that true? Thanks for any comments!

Will try to see if it work tomorrow  I was just a little bit curious to understand what actually do the terminologies "htc-signed", "CID", etc mean.
