rooting htc desire for dummies....

so i got a htc desire its got hbooy 0.80 radio 4.06.00.02_2 anyways iv been tryin for a week to root it using various guides but as im a dummy i cant figure it out, when paul says 'open a command prompt / terminal window at that directory' does he mean just open the window there or actualy type in the address location of the file into the command prompt window..... ??? i know it may sound stupid to alot of you's but hey i did create this topic for 'dummies' iv downloaded all the files n am ready to rock n roll i just need an idiots step by step guide as will most peeps who are trying but failing miserably

...the net is a world of information and people are willing to learn.....but i aswell as many others find it hard to find decent teachers that will actualy teach us dummies. so please give us a clue lads n ladettes.......

Nothing wrong with correct grammar, people are more likely to reply to posts they can actually understand.

Anyway you could try unrevoked 3 to root, I did it with my desire and it's basically a one click root method, so easy. Don't even need to make a goldcard, so I would suggest that to you.

::EDIT:: if you really want to know what a command prompt is just click your windows button then click run then type into it "cmd" and that will load a terminal window for you.
