Guest mickb1982 Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Hi, I rooted my HTC Desire yesterday with the hope of been able to install APPs2SD so that I can install my big apps like co-pilot and Google maps to the memory card to save space on the phone memory. I managed to get the root setup correctly and I have tried the 16th July r5 MaDaCo custom rom with AP2SD+ and the 2nd July r21 custom rom but the option to move to SD is always shaded out for all apps. I have setup my SD card with a main FAT32 partition and a 500mb ext3 partition, I used Paragon Partition Magic 9 I have also tried step 6 of this guide but I couldn’t get that to work either. I must be doing something wrong, has anyone managed to get it working? I'm going to try installing the rooted stock rom from this site and put my memory card back to normal and start again. Can anyone offer any advice or does anyone know of a guide that works on the Desire? Any help would be appreciated as I’m running out of ideas! Thanks Mick
Guest mickb1982 Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Ive just read something on another forum, I think I may have misunderstood how APPS2SD works, does it actually give you an option to install to SD or does is just add the size of the ext partition to the internal memory and automatically store apps on the SD? So my internal memory is around 150mb will this just stay at 150mb untill all the ext partion is used? Can anyone confirm if this is right or not? Also should it work with the partion I have or should it be ext2? Thanks
Guest frankkubiak Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Using ROM Manager for Partitioning is a good idea because you don't need to swap your card between devices. Frank
