Hi folks, its the first time i really need some help.

Id some Wlan issues with a selfmade rom, read a bit through this great place, and found out, that the swedish 2.1 Update.app would fix this problem.

Done the update, worked fine, but wlan prb is still alive.

When i try to connect to my home wlan, pulse says every sconed time, that it fails to start wlan, or cant connect. ( 4 other pcs, and 2 mobile cant connect easily, pulse on 1.5 could aswell...)

At work i need to use my old Nokia E51 as a 3G hotspot, to get a stronger signal, cause Pulse is nothing to this "bunkerfunker". Hotspot starts correctly, Laptop and my iPhone 3GS can access the internet without any probs, but u8220 even dosesnt find the hotspot.

Then i tried to set the accesspoint manuelly, with correct SSID and password. Second Fail, Pulse says the network is not in range...

if anybody knews a way to fix this, i would be very pleased about this...

Greets, Basher

Ok, found out thats an unsolveable Android Problem.

Android does not support ad-hoc Connections, just management ones. There are some workaround out there, but all require root and a lot of time, whats not acceptable.

I think Google is doing wrong with Androids WiFi Connection: You cant access proxy protected networks, no ad-hoc. Even my old E51 is able to do this, now iam thinking to get a new Device with other OS, but the others outside are even more annoying...

Basher have you got any links to some potential fixes? If it's something I could possibly add to the rom to make it work then I certainly would do so.
