froyo feature?! how to add google-independent contacts?

good day,

it seems something changed since eclair on adding new contacts. now with my latest defrost 2.1 rom i'm only able to import previously exported vcf contats when google account registered in the system. otherwise it imports all contacts from vcf on sd but none appears in contacts.

other big problem is when i add new contact it's have "google contact" type always. As there are now such thing as phone contacts (as it was in eclair) - independent of google. what the heck? and such new contacts are not shown in the phone's address book until it syncs with google. please advise! i know that there were several contact types in eclair.

if you click menu and then "view" you will choose which contacts you want to see in people app.......in addition when adding new contact click on where it says google contact and choose the type you want.....phone or sim

I think what you're describing is the differences between the stock and sense contacts apps, maybe give mcr v5 a whirl?

yeah, but why stock contacts forces me to use google contacts? i'm not using google contact at all, i find it unreliable and i really dont want to rely on the the internet connection when adding contacts.

i'm aware of that - it's working on HTCs contacts, but on the stock roms it's not possible to choose contact type when adding a new contact! That's what amazed me!

also there is an options in stock contacts to choose how to sort contacts buy last name or by first name (which is default) and it's essential for me, cause lack of this feature forces me to use 3rd party contact managers on Sense ROMs.

my contacts have been assimilated by type "google" ;-)

Now, how do I change them back to type "telephone" ?

When adding new contacts I can choose but afterwards... ???
