Location of GPS antenna?

As it sometimes can take a very long time to find any satellites and get a fix, I'm curious to know where the antenna is actually located within the Desire. Is there a best angle for optimal reception? Anyone know exactly what kind of antenna is used?

Do you use GPS alone or data/server based too? Also are you booting up the GPS indoors or in a car? Try disabling server if its on already (Settings >> Location >> Untick Wireless Networks) or even turn it on if it isnt! Then boot it outside or very near a window, should find you quicker

Ive never had a problem with my GPS position being found quickly, and thats just using the GPS alone, quickest GPS Ive had actually

Both. Sometimes it locks on pretty quickly, as expected, but other times it seems to take forever. Mostly used in a vehicle, putting the phone up to the window.

On a recent trip to Manhattan it never achieved lock at all, even out in the open (no tall buildings around), which was most frustrating.
