Guest thfc5975 Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Just wondered if anyone knows of any reputable sites where I can get my Desire unlocked from O2? Have tried a couple but after sending my IMEI I am being told that is unlockable. Thanks in advance. Mark

Guest Diggedy Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Oh and before anyone says HTCCODE I have tried them first of all and im still waiting for a refund!! Most o2 handsets are already unlocked, have you tried another sim in it already?

Guest Silvake Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 (edited) Maybe O2 got smart and they are re-locking their phones now, using a second set of codes, same like the Romanian carriers do... I'm still searching for an unlocking solution for more than a month now, but no luck so far. It seems only a cable method will be able to unlock our phones, unfortunately... Just to give my feedback about HTCCODE. I'be bought some credit to unlock a friends phone with them. The software they provide gives you an error when you try to send the information to retrieve your unlock code but after sending them an email with all the phone info, they replied after 1 hour with the unlock code. And it worked.

The money was refunded by PayPal, not them in the end. Use HTCCODE at own risk because if the code does not work- they become very funny.

As I see you have one post and you also quoted me, let me say that I have no link with HTCCODE or its owners, just said what happened with me some days ago when I needed to unlock a friend's phone. But I do have the same opinion of using them at your own risk. Edited July 21, 2010 by xhemp
Guest abs_rio Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 I haven't had any luck with that seller on ebay. Apparently my phone is too "new" to be unlocked via code. Good seller though he refunded the payments immediately. Now I could contact Orange directly to see if they can unlock it or shall I take it to a shop for cable unlocking. Any ideas?
Guest abs_rio Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 Finally managed to get it unlocked, using express-codes on ebay. Did take about 12 days in total, which is probably how long it took the database to be updated. Anyway now I can start rooting and flashing :)
