Guest RottenFoxBreath Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 (edited) Typical template reply from the monkeys that work in the UK Customer Dis-Service dept? they just send out stock replies, and TBH if brains were dynamite, they wouldn't have enough to blow their noses. I would wait till a few more countries support said the same thing, before giving credence to that reply. Hasn't it already been said though, that there will be an update(sure i read it that there was, maybe on here, maybe somewhere else), and given that the phone seems to be quite popular, i can't see why not. Guest HGeorgiev Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 I have sources close to LG Turkey. They WILL update the android version. But no date yet. Actually, it seems to be most likely LG Optimu's display has near 265K colors (actually - 262 144 - 18 bit/pixel). Android 1.6 support 65K colors, and Optimus was released this year… HTC Tattoo for example has a 65K color display, as I know… So, why LG uses this display in Optimus if they have no plans for updates – just ‘money for nothing’?
Guest DarkField Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Mh.. yea.. I don't knew that. But now..

Guys..... GT540 WILL be updated to 2.1, dont worry .... End of September all of you will enjoy 2.1 running on their GT540 P.S. Some countries may delay the 2.1 release
Guest hecatae Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Email back asking for the source code for the GT540.
Guest borovaka Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 hecatae Are you email them? The source code is not so important because we can gat full android source from google, but they must share kernel modules who are used for GT540 and the way for flashing new firmware ( fastboot is missing). They engineers using special device (named PIf-100) but we don't have access to it. If they answer to your mail please inform us. It will be very hot info.

Guest Prince of Dreams Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 I bought my GT540 on the 10th of August from CPW in the UK, when i bought it they told me it was running on Android 1.6 but that their will be an update released at teh end of August taking it to 2.1 (and that it wont be upgraded to 2.2) Of course it could be flannel but he got the information from the CPW computer network and CPW are reputable I doubt they would lie over this to get sales, the bad publicity later would hurt them
