Guest thisweb Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Paul, its been a long time since you updated your "WIP" Could you let us know if you are planning to update the 2.1 ROM or are you to busy for Pulse stuff now? Trying to figure out if a class 6 sd upgrade is crucial for apps to SD. The FLB mod seems to suggest so. Thanks Matt

There is a post from a few weeks back where people posted their SD benchmark scores and IIRC about class 4 was as much as the pulse could manage - have a look for the thread further back in the forum.
Guest rulerofkaos Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 I'm using the original sdcard coming with the pulse, no problems with A2SD.

Really? It would not be beneficial for the Pulse to have higher than class 4?
Guest Daz555 Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital Here is the original thread: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital My own test is in there which was 14MB/s read and 6MB/s write so that does fit with Class 6 - so it seems I did not recall that correctly - must stop drinking. That seems to represent a max for the Pulse though.

Guest irvine Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 As far as i know putting Dalvik Cache on your SD only requires a card with class 4 or higher, because of the amount of reading/writing it would have to do from the card. A2SD on the other hand doesn't require any specific class card.

But my memory keeps getting full if leaving dalvik on phone memory. I can't see point in A2SD if my installs are limited by the Dalvik. Can anyone tell me what Dalvik is for?? Why does dalvik get full when installing apps, and what happens if I just clear it with recovery?
