Mini-review based on description of LauncherPro Plus:

Price is $2.99 - Bit too much for only a couple of widgets. Let's see if it's worth it:

People Widget - Already found a couple free alternatives. Arti's Fancy Contacts Widget is the one I like the best. Score so far: 0/1

Bookmarks Widget - Already use a free alternative, Visual Bookmarks. Score so far: 0/2

Friends Widget - You can mix and match widgets from different apps, but I haven't found a single alternative yet. I'd call this a win. Score so far: 1/3

Calendar Widget - There are a ton of free calendar widgets that already do similar things. My favorite so far is Calendar Pad. The widget provided by LauncherPro Plus seems to be a bit more sleek than all the others, so I'm calling this one a half-win. Score so far: 1.5/4

Messaging Widget - Already found some free alternatives. There's even an entire pack of free Messaging widgets made by jacky.virtu. However, none of the widgets I have seen so far let you delete SMS-es from within the widget, so I'd call it a half-win. Score so far: 2/5

Final score: 2/5 widgets provided by LauncherPro Plus are worth it, which is definitely not enough to warrant a purchase of 3 USD. Perhaps if there were more widgets or if it would cost less, it would be worth it, but I say skip it for now.

The fastest Home application ever with a lot of useful functions and customizations is not a "sentimental" it is a concrete value provided to you for free. If you do not want to purchase the paid version and 3$ is too much for you - it is OK - no problem with that. Just do not discourage others to do so, and do not undervalue someone's hard work.

Just purchased it and like it alot more than the stock home screen.

Besides, once it goes out of beta mode, the price will go up (according to the web site).
