Guest Simon O Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Some bad news for me. Last night I was mugged and my Pulse was stolen along with cash. The cash I'm not that bothered about but the Pulse.. that's upset me bigtime. This sadly means that all development for flb-mod will have to be on hold for the time being. I will try and upload what I currently have as an update which should resolve some issues for people. I'm out of work currently so replacing the pulse is going to be a difficult task for now. I couldn't even get a contract phone with t-mobile which make me a bit mad but... never mind. Personally, I'm OK. No harm done to myself. Just real gutted about my phone being taken
Guest thedarkduke Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 No harm done to myself This is more important than the phone
Guest Azurren Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 This is more important than the phone +1

Guest ogiogi Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Oh man. I'm very sorry to hear that. Can't T-Mo track the phone by your IMEI.
Guest BigBearMDC Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Oh man. I'm very sorry to hear that. Can't T-Mo track the phone by your IMEI. I think they can't track it, but they might deactivate / block it.
Guest Azurren Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 I think they can't track it, but they might deactivate / block it. They could if they felt like it :D The police / CIA could also track and retrieve it.. If they wanted to admit that they can / are tracking you at all times.. Get out your tinfoil hats people  In all serious though A-GPS was designed so that 999 / 911 calls could be traced quickly to the exact location
Guest ogiogi Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 I think they can't track it, but they might deactivate / block it. They can in my country. By cell phone triangulation.
Guest biron_w Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Edit: this might be covered by your insurance? Possibly. Some home content cover in this country does cover you for this sort of thing. That is very s*** though. I hate low life people who do this sort of thing  Although with him living in nottingham it's gotta be par for course :D Glad you're unharmed though ;)
Guest whackster Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 +1 +1 Just explain to the police that your phone was one of a kind, if they come across it, it should be real easy to verify that its yours
Guest Simon O Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Oh that are really bad news  But the most important thing is that you didn't get harmed. Edit: this might be covered by your insurance? Sadly no insurance as the phone was purchased used from ebay. I dont have home insurance. :D
Guest Simon O Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Oh man. I'm very sorry to hear that. Can't T-Mo track the phone by your IMEI. Well I blocked the phone IMEI this morning and the phone has been completely bricked by the operator (didn't know they could do this). the sim card has been wiped and I have a replacement which I had to pay £10 for  At least whoever has my phone now has a useless brick. T-Mobile wont trace the phone. The police won't do it. They gave me some bulls--t about having to get courts permission to do a trac etc. Makes me wonder if something like Wavesecure is even worth having :s
Guest ogiogi Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 T-Mobile wont trace the phone. The police won't do it. They gave me some bulls--t about having to get courts permission to do a trac etc. That sucks

Guest AnDroidNooB Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 how much cost a new replacement? please express the price in u$s so I can convert easier to Argentinian pesos and I will donate through paypal  229.32 US$
Guest il_cholo Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) 229.32 US$ it´s too much money that number in my country, I can donate 5 or 10 bucks  with 5 bucks my babies twins eat for 3 days :D Edited July 20, 2010 by il_cholo
Guest AnDroidNooB Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 dont force it dude, just give what you can.. were all playing our part
Guest Speckles Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 T-Mobile wont trace the phone. The police won't do it. They gave me some bulls--t about having to get courts permission to do a trac etc. Makes me wonder if something like Wavesecure is even worth having :sStrange considering that if you say "My car has been stolen and it has tracker on it" they'll go chasing after it almost immediately. Sounds more like they can't be bothered for what they consider the value of the phone. I've heard that Google CAN request the phones current location (not heard it used), remotely brick the phone (Operators say they have done it, but what it does I don't know), and even remotely uninstall applications (google have been known to do this). Sorry about your loss, hope you didn't have any confidential data on there (or that T-Mobile bricked it before they got past your screen lock)
Guest veggie_d Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 I believe any operator can brick any phone via the IMEI number. At least that's what a newspaper article here said a couple of weeks ago. Apparently lots of people who buy "new" phones cheaply via ebay and the sorts find that out the hard way. Soon as they get their phone and turn it on, it transforms into a fancy looking brick.
