Guest mobiholic Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) Legit or bullshit? Link here. Personally I'm calling BS on this, but the auction has lured 4 people in already and the guy specifically states that it was unlocked by O2 themselves. Still I don't (and wont  ) buy it. EDIT - I've submitted this because although I don't own the O2 variant anymore I would love to find out that this is true! Edited July 20, 2010 by mobiholic
Guest stuliv12 Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 i doubt this is true, after lengthy discussions with O2 i eventually got them to give me an unlatch code, BUT they couldnt : (a small excert from the e-mail) As I advised in my previous email to you, I’d offered to request a code to unlock your Dell Streak handset, and you kindly provided further information to help complete this request. Unfortunately, our unlatch code request team confirm that as a result of Dell not providing o2 with codes for the Streak handset, or any information about how to obtain them we’re unable to unlock your phone. The reason we’ve not been given unlatching codes is due to the handset being exclusive to o2. I’m sorry this isn’t the response you were hoping to receive. I’m disappointed that our customer service hasn’t been up to our normal standard. This is certainly not the experience we want for our customers. I’ve now passed your comments to our process and improvement team to highlight this issue. this was sent to me on the 1st July. It seems from this info that Dell are the ones holding onto the unlock codes. The nice complaint officer also said : We will at some point receive the unlatching codes for the Streak handset from Dell, as we’ll receive requests to unlock these handsets when users have had their handsets registered on the network for over 12 months. As I mentioned in my previous email to you, I’ve fed back the problems you’ve encountered with requesting a code back to our process and improvement team.
Guest mobiholic Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the timely update, I know that a few of the members on here have had a back and forth with O2 about the unlock codes and the answer so far has been a unanimous "we cannot unlock the Streak at this time". Just letting my optimism get the better of me by posting this here to see if it disappears from ebay or if someone with an O2 locked Streak checks again with O2. I should really just hit the report seller link and be done with it I think!
