Guest shadieb Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 Just looking at the forum list and it now says SPV/Tanager. WTF is a Tanager? Is it another code name or something??? I'm sure the Tanager bit has only been added recently. Cheers.

Guest shadieb Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 Cheers for the info Xanadu. I seem to have completely missed that though, I didn't even know the phone was available on T-mobile. I only bought mine a couple of weeks ago, and was told it was exclusive to Orange ;) I moved from T-Mobile to Orange to get the SPV, if I'dd have known it was coming on T-Mobile only a few weeks later I would have gone with them and kept my old T-mob number. Before anybody asks why I didn't port my old number to Orange, I wanted the SPV bad and I wanted it up and running straight away. Apparently it takes a week or so to port numbers over.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 The SPV look better ;) The phone not out yet, It's just that the site is getting ready for them.
Guest Gorskar Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 The SPV looks more stylish, but the tanager's joypad looks a little easier to use.
Guest shadieb Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Cool, thanks for the info awarner and Gorskar. I am more then happy with the SPV ;) Just going to go and have a nosey at this Tanager if I can find some piccies online.
Guest pete1312 Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 I think "Tanager" is the German version of our SPV. It's branded differently, as Orange have no market in Germany. As far as I know (and I really know very little), it's not available in UK under that name. It's a separate "deal" between MS/HTC/T-Mobile. By all means correct me if I'm mistaken.

Guest SPLATT! Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Has anyone reviewed the Tanager yet :?: It will be interesting to see if they have this problem of Application Certification :?
Guest Rob.P Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 shadieb, just as well you didn't want your number ported, Orange were completely useless when I wanted to do it, I ended up keeping the temp Orange number they gave me, got so tired of arguing with them after a month and a half of waiting.
