Guest YoDJMC Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 The touchscreen starts to become unresponsive in certain regions. It started yesterday after 4 weeks of no problems and no new apps have been added in the last week or so, and no knocks to the device. Firstly I spotted it on all the menu buttons across the top of the home screen, but then latterly in other apps. In MixZing it would stop skipping forward but OK going back, and the playlist button in the top right stopped responding. Its intermittent - sometimes staying that way until either powering down or occassionally just a lock/unlock cleared it up. E.g. the keyboard and menu bar across the top becomes unresponsive, rather like explorer in windows, but the app behind continued to zoom and respond to taps, and even on the home screen when the top two rows of icons appeared to respond to taps and draggiong about the screen the bottom ones didn't, but I could still scroll between the home screens if I used the area where tapping was responsive At first I thought it was a software problem, however when I tried the hard reset into the Touchpanel Recalibration it still happened, and interestingly appeared to affect a border around the screen, perhaps 1.5cm or so thick. This meant that the *,0,#,9,6,3 and FastUSB tab did not respond, but the other buttons did. I would have though that this would imply a hardware problem. Anyone else had this problem? YoDJMC (Stock Dell Streak, not rooted, on O2 - only about 20 apps added)

Streak running Modaco rom and fitted with rebel sim (also for a few weeks)... (locked to O2)
