Guest Duckeh Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Can't seem to get it to install. Says "E:Missing file: system/app/Dialer.odex" "E:Verification failed" "Installation aborted."
Guest gforums Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Thanks for your feedback. Let's wait for more people to try this. I just redownloaded the rom myself, copied to my sd and tried to flash it. Installation works fine for me! By the way, I am using the "ClockwordMod Recovery v1.8.1.4" Recovery Image. Give it a try, if you are not yet using it. My rom is *not* signed, but this way it can be installed. No idea, why you get this error... gforums

I'll try to do a file comparison with my update.zip to see if there are any significant differences.
Guest gforums Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 It's because the zip is not signed....AmonRA needs a signed file. If someone likes signing the file...:-) maybe for the next release I find some time. Should be no problem for you to install clockwordmod recovery before flashing.

I can sign files if you need.
Guest m2te Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 I booted it up, seems to have broken my wifi and USB mounting. I've put my update.zip back on my phone and the Wifi is back but the USB mounting is still broke, when this happened to me before I needed to install one of the stock Huawei roms to get the functionality back. I'm currently uploading my update.zip which seems to work well for me to 4shared, it's not modded as much as this one, it's just rooted and with a modified framework-res.apk so there is still some pink but it may help the effort to get a generic working rom.
Guest m2te Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 (edited) I have put my custom rom up here- http://www.4shared.com/file/ywNVTTsw/MikesRomSigned.html Notes- It is based on the T-Mobile UK rom U8110V100R001C85B215SP02TMOUK from the Huawei web site. Includes a customised framework-res.apk file to remove the majority of the pink. Rooted - Superuser.apk and busybox installed. Edited July 21, 2010 by m2te
Guest gforums Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Thanks mike...you could edit your post with a short description of your rom? I have also some sd card issues, no idea how they come. "Rootexplorer" for example finds the sdcard without any problems... WiFi is working for me, but I needed a reboot to get it connected. Hopefully we can resolve these issues somehow....
Guest Gjole86 Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 ** Please use ClockwordMod Recovery v1.8.1.4" Recovery Image, as the rom isn't signed ** IMO clockwork 2.5.0.1 should do same job (if not better, its way newer version). was trying to build my own rom these days but never went to putting it to phone damn storms these days cut my adsl, electricity ...
Guest Simon O Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Ooh nice. Well this saves me having to make a Pulse Mini rom from scratch. I'll have a nosey at this as I'm quite interested to see how you managed to get the big pulse rom working on the mini pulse. By the way, what kernel are you using? Is it the standard Pulse Mini kernel from another rom? The Pulse Mini has full kernel source available so should be easy to add various useful things such as compcache, swap support, iptables.
Guest gforums Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 flibblesan, I am using the original kernel. I only used APKs from your rom. My base image is pauls r1 custom rom. this is the original UK image with some modifications. I realized, that all your deodexed apks just run fine also on the pulse mini, so I replaced the original apps step by step with apks from your FLB mod. Additionally, I added some of the patches, you also did on your flb rom and did some own stuff. Compiling a kernel for Android is not in my range I think. I saw, that they offer the source files, but I'm not that experienced in compiling a kernel for android devices.... best, gforums
Guest gforums Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 okay guys, r4 is online now! please report any bugs. tell me also if you like it :( gforums
Guest Moonthistle Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 (edited) Thank you gforums!!! Finally got rid of the "PINK" YAY :( Have been using R3 with no problems, downloading R4 now. Again thanks I love that we have a real rom for the Pulse Mini at Last and I know this is only the start. ***UPDATE*** Okay i've had to switch back to g3 as launcherpro was a tad unstable on g4, constant FC's that screwed everything up if it was set a default home screen. So i'm back on g3 which works fine except for the gallery app which didn't work so i've replaced it with the original one again and everything is fine now. Loving this rom so far and can't wait to see whats to come. Edited July 23, 2010 by Moonthistle
Guest gforums Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 (edited) Glad so see you're happy with it. I have r4 on mine and will see if launcher pro works well. From my side, there are currently no updates planned (very busy!) but maybe someone else will do updates based on my rom. Edited July 23, 2010 by gforums
Guest gforums Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 WTF! I am still experience issues with the data connection. programs don't get a connection after the first reboot of the phone. From time to time, it is working. Like at the moment. But is doesn't look very stable. Whats with your phones? best! gforums
Guest Simon O Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 You should be able to make some useful modifications to the kernel simply by unpacking the boot.img then the ramdisk and editing init.rc Package it back up and it should work fine. I tried doing this myself but, for some reason, I'm unable to unpack the boot.img (the tools I use give me an error saying it's not g'zipped)
Guest spaceboy_100 Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 I am getting intermittent conntection on wifi and 3g, and I cannot mount the SD card over the USB connection, but the general speed of the phone is far smoother than it ever was on the TMOB image.
Guest gforums Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 yes those seem to be the two most outstanding bugs for now. I hope someone might be able to fix them. I certainly can't do this :-/ @flibblesan: Will see if I get the boot.img extracted somehow.

Regarding the USB problem, any of you performed a wipe of the dalvik cache / data from with the custom recovery? I recently had a fully working rom then I ran the wipe, after that I couldn't mount the SD card. The only way I have found to restore the SD Card mounting is to flash one of the stock roms from the Huawei web site. I need to do more tests but not enough time at the moment.
Guest Mental_Atom Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 Just flashed this and its awesome! Keep up the good work. Any upcoming features?
Guest gforums Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 I'll add the boot.img from mike and see if a2sd is working then. With it, I'll update launcher pro, maps, facebook to latest version. And the theming will be updated... that's it so far. I don't plan releasing more than. Important is to have a stable rom wiht a nice UI and some useful apps. And for the moment I don't see what it missing and general important... gforums
