Guest judeh101 Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Hello guys, I got a 32GB sd card, and I've partitioned so that I have 256MB swap size, 2GB EXT2, and 28GB FAT32. But when I move the apps from the phone to my SD card, this is what I get: /sbin/um: line 3: can't create /sys/devices/platform/usb_mass_storage/lun0/file: nonexistant directory mount: mounting /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 on /system/sd failed: No such file or directory /data -> /system/sd Needed real 15828K Needed extra 20000K Needed total: 35828K Available: K ERROR: unable to check freespace on /system/sd Not enough free space to proceed Or Requested operation not available with your current configuration. What is going on here? It worked with my previous 8GB SD card, but it doesn't work with my 32GB card. What went wrong here?

Guest judeh101 Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 was the ext2 partition also 2gig on the previous card, try making it 512MB and see if that works yeah, it was 2 gigs also. I tried to make it 512mb, and that didn't work at all  Thanks for the suggestion though, Any more solutions?
Guest judeh101 Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Which rom are you using? Acer_LiquidE_1.100.03_PA_ROG Rogers firmware. I couldn't get it to run any other ROM.
Guest Calcvictim Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 do you have access to a machine with linux on it? maybe try formating the ext2 partition outside of the phone, I am not sure but it might be a size limitation of some sort

Should I use the terminal? I'm not very good with linux. Are there any instructions?
Guest Calcvictim Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Yes I do. Should I use the terminal? I'm not very good with linux. Are there any instructions? use a gui based program, gparted is what you want. It's included in many linux distributions.

Repartition your sdcard and don't create a swap parition ext2 partition must be /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 /system/sd use recovery to do the job (set swap to 0) Be sure you use a compatible rom too (you have not told)

Thank you for the reply. I'll be sure to donate to you asap. You make wonderful stuff. I'll try it out. What did you mean by "ext2 partition must be /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 /system/sd"? Like how would I do it? EDIT: ok, so I've "Mount" and "UMount" now that solved most of the problems. But here comes a new one. Mounting sdcard mount: mounting /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 on /system/sd failed: Invalid argument *** unable to mount filesystem for a2sd! umount: can't umount /system/sd: invalid argument Edited July 21, 2010 by judeh101
Guest xaueious Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 (edited) To transfer SD cards, it's recommend to do a nandroid backup+ext i reecovery. Then partition the new SD card, and copy the fat/fat32 from the old card to the new card. Finally restore latest nandroid You could get it working on the 8GB first and see if you can nandroid it to work the new card? Edited July 22, 2010 by xaueious

Guest judeh101 Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 ok, so I switched over to Xian's rom, cause I liked it a little better. :( I still couldn't get a2sd to work.
Guest judeh101 Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 can anyone please explain to me what malez meant by "ext2 partition must be /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 /system/sd" I don't get it, what should I do?

That didn't work :( the weird thing is, that worked for my previous 8gb card, and not this one.
Guest Calcvictim Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 before you do that try reformatting the card as NTFS in windows, not a quick format but a full one...see if it completes, could be a bad card...also you could run a disk test on it, maybe iometer, or hdtune just to see if the card itself is fully functional

I used H2testw and the card is hacked. only 448mb is usable out of the 32 gb it claims.
