Guest BrandonB1218 Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Hello everyone, It seems that I've messed up. I was under the impression that this: http://android.modaco.com/content/samsung-...online-kitchen/ - could be done on any Galaxy S phone. It wasn't until later that I found out that I can't flash my USA Vibrant (I'm referring specifically to flashing the JG1 firmware). I was following this video tutorial which said nothing about that: http://android.modaco.com/content/samsung-...g-firmware-jg1/ So now I've got a potentially bricked phone. Odin never got past File Analysis or whatever it says. There was never a blue bar going across the screen so I assume it never started flashing. However, when I try to turn it on I get a phone symbol, a few dots an X symbol, a few more dots and then a PC symbol. I'm hoping that I can fix this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you pulled the battery then tried turning it on?
Guest KLoNe Technologies Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Haha, you're gonna have to try harder to brick your phone than that Brandon :( I did the same thing very early in my Galaxy S' life and I too was very shook up by the 'Phone X PC' screen that I couldn't find any info on at Modaco. 2 things still work regardless: Volume Up + Menu Button + Power On = Recovery Mode Volume Down + Menu Button + Power On = Download Mode Just chuck her back in download mode, find the Vibrant firmware on the net and try to flash again (it will work). Good luck! - KLoNe

Guest Kilack Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Ahh yes if the firmware is on the net then no issue :( I don't think anyone has bricked the phone yet.. well actually.. I wouldn't recommend repartitioning the internal sd card.. :(
Guest BrandonB1218 Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 I managed to find the stock firmware and I fixed it. Wow that freaked me out. Thanks guys!
Guest KLoNe Technologies Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Actually (I don't want to pull my own chain! :(), is there any chance that this could get stickied or put up in the FAQ or something? Just this is a little scary when people don't have any idea at the start of their flashing journey :(
