Radio updating and resultant reception / data effects.

I changed my Radio to the PU one that was posted on XDA a while ago and was happy to find that when at work in central London my data connection started to work! Previously I had presumed that the cell tower was overloaded or somesuch.

Thing is, with that radio it seems that I get no reception at home. So I changed it back to JU and once again, despite having full 3G reception in central London, I get no data downstream until I'm ten minutes out of London.

Any ideas? Is that all coincidedntal? I had the Radio installed for a while before I changed it back, so it wasn't a one day occurrence or anything. Is that possible?
