Guest feelmychi Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 What do you all think of the following? http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-phones/pho...ckageProductId= feelmychi
Guest Koo-san Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 (edited) What do you all think of the following? http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-phones/pho...ckageProductId= feelmychi Isn't this [i5800] effectively the update of the Samsung Galaxy Portal/Spica/Lite i5700 packaged for Orange? Runs Eclair 2.1, Swype and TouchWiz and DivX player. I guess at £149 does seem good value - if you can stand the TouchWiz UI (not to all tastes IMO) - as you do get 2.1 out-of-the-box, Swype and DivX (but as with i5700 only get a smaller 3.2inch TFT @ 240x400). I'm sure with some hacking this could be just as good as the Pulse [sorry guys]!!! :( ...could maybe argue Samsung build quality might be better than Huawei (haha, my Pulse is currently "dead" suffering from random reboot problem!!!)??? Wonder if the non-Orange version (Samsung Galaxy 3 i5800) will ever be realised though apart from this Orange version in the UK (a la T-Mobile with the Pulse vs U8220 in the UK)... Guest Koo-san Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 I want one :( Any chance of a real spec sheet? As effectively Orange branded i5800, should be more or less this (I believe): http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i5800_galaxy_3-3395.php :(

I've been trawling around, some say it has multitouch some don't mention it. But the CPU is clocked lower than the Spica and if the RAM isn't at least double :(

Guest Azurren Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 (edited) vs :( If only.. Why do operators always ruin a device just to make it "unique"? Edited July 23, 2010 by Azurren
Guest SaladOA Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 (edited) *pictures* :( If only.. Why do operators always ruin a device just to make it "unique"? What is up with that gunmetal colour? You would have thought that designers would have realised by now that all gadgets look infinitely better in black. Hell, every time I see a silver TV I die inside a little because I know people are obviously buying those monstrosities. Edited July 22, 2010 by SaladOA
Guest Azurren Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 I've posted a thread on the Samdroid forums asking what the spica owners thought of this. An Upgrade or a Downgrade? http://forum.samdroid.net/f28/samsung-gala...1620/#post24817 I am seriously considering getting this or a Spica :(
