On Wednesday, I downloaded the rom "OS Acer 1.100.09.AAP.GEN2 A21E.bin" from Acer site and started the upgrading process as described in the help file. When the process reached around the 75% I got the error message and the liquid bricked.

Need help, please. :( :(

Thank you very much but, unfortunately it doesn't work. I have just tried unsuccessfully. The log file now is identical to the first one. The key combination I do is Vol up + camera + plug USB.

Try to get fastboot:

remove battery for 10 seconds, plug the battery, cable and then hold camera button and press < softkey.

Should boot in fastboot mode, then you can flash recovery

Make sure USB is disconnected

Remove and replace battery

Volume DOWN+Camera+Power

You will feel 2-3 vibrations. Release all keys.

Press power as if you are turning on phone.

wasn't it vol down + camera + power?

Should be this but sometimes it hasn't worked on my phone.

With the other method, I always reach the bootloader.

Thank you all of you folks, but still bricked.

Thank you eumate but doesn't work. I cannot start the Acer Liquid Software Upgrade Utility

Make sure USB is disconnected

Remove and replace battery

Volume DOWN+Camera+Power

You will feel 2-3 vibrations. Release all keys.

Press power as if you are turning on phone.

Thanks HustlinDaily

vol down + camera + power = three vibrations. power on and the Acer logo appears for a couple of seconds. Then the soft keys illuminate for 10 seconds more less and every time I touch them they do, but cannot do any thing more. (black screen)

vol up + camera + power (or plugging the usb) = two vibrations. (I think bootloader mode) and I can start with "Acer Liquid Software Upgrade Utility, but the same result.

I discovered:

remove the battery > plug the usb > When the battery icon appears hold vol up and down + power. It appears a warning :

"Will clean boot!!!

volume up/down key to select yes/no

confirm by press camera key.

Clean boot: YES?"

is there any way of flashing an other rom else?

You can refer to the Acer Liquid Upgrade Manual_*_*.pdf in the downloaded official zip file.

I have experienced almost the same as you posted,I did the followings and succeeded.

1. Unplug the USB cable.

2. Remove your battery for 10 seconds.

3.Replace the battery.

4.Press and hold both the volume up and camera kesys(note: no other keys).

5.Connect your Acer liquid to PC via USB cable(if ok,your PC will show that you've plugged in sth and begin to install drivers, or your PC will play some sound to show that you've plugged in sth)

ps:I tried serval times and succeeded at last. So try your best, and don't give up.

6.upgrade your Acer liquid by official tools or other tools.

poor english :( ,hope you can understand.

There is!

First of all, all of these links are provided by malez in the LCR wiki- http://code.google.com/p/acer-liquid-commu...uidCommunityROM (best wiki ever).

First, make sure all of your Acer drivers are up to date:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E5PTHL3O Acer Liquid drivers for Windows

http://www.4shared.com/file/pkdJ9oQQ/AcerLiquidDrivers.html Acer Liquid drivers for Windows

Then, download this tool- http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EF2QNANO

Use that tool to flash a .bin file:

Acer_LiquidE_1.100.05_EMEA_GEN1 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MM62W37I

Acer_LiquidE_1.100.05_EMEA_GEN1 http://rapidshare.com/files/386463804/Acer...14544fd.bin.zip

Acer_LiquidE_1.100.05_EMEA_GEN1 http://www.4shared.com/file/fJ2Qn_iV/Acer_...EMEA_GEN1_.html

Acer_LiquidE_1.100.05_EMEA_GEN1 http://www.multiupload.com/6EY2O1VMZL

While there are newer .bin files floating around, 1.100.05 is the newest one I can confirm that works.

1.100.05 is an official Acer bin but not officially provided by Acer, it is a leaked bin. It runs smoothly but SMS loads very slow. My recommendation is to upgrade to 1.100.05, then use an official Acer tool to update to an Acer bin (probably to an EMEA one like 1.100.39- http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/OS...&SC=EMEA_17 ).

I got error "fastboot fail"

That's how I solved the problem, weeks ago.

1. download any custom ROM you want, back in the time I had the LCR 1.6 (the first one sporting Eclair), rename it as "update.zip" (without quotes) and put it into your SDCard, being sure that it is FAT-32 formatted. Also, be sure that there are no other update files into it. You can actually copy the update.zip file into your SDCard by using any USB SD Card reader.

2. unplug the phone from the USB.

3. press at the same time the Volume Down + Camera + Power Key. The phone will vibrate two times.

4. turn on the phone, it will boot in Recovery Mode (because you had the USB unplugged, otherwise you'll boot in bootloader mode)

5. let the phone apply the update.zip - this should be automatically

6. if everything went fine you'll end having a somewhat usable operating system, once the rom booted up go into settings -> applications and turn on USB debugging;

7. retry flashing the official bin.

Hope this may be useful!

I forgot sth.I tried other USB ports on PC.

It didn't work on One USB port when I tried several times, so I changed to another USB port and it worked.

Have you tried other USB ports?

Try booting into recovery, and plugging in the usb cable when you see the acer logo. See if the download tool recognizes it there.
