An option to disable ipv6 fully in the kitchen

Would go in an init script on early boot-up. Unless there's a sysctrl i am not aware of.

echo '1' > /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/disable_ipv6

Personally I would prefer an option to set the priority for ipv4 over ipv6 however without a gia.conf I have no idea how to do this under android.

I will do some more research though there may be another way.

Also

An Australian Locale would be nice to have.

I use the package More Locales2 But it would be nice to have it native.

So, I have this r8 Froyo ROM and have the Adobe Flash installed as well but pretty much none of the videos people post can be viewed with the facebook app, am I missing something? I thought Froyo would do flash, why do I always get, sorry this video can not be played error when I click on a video someone posted on my facebook page?

Paul, did you get a chance to take a look at the bizarre "embarrassed emoticon" issue? I've asked at a local NZ HTC Desire forum, and a few people also confirm that their stock OTA 2.2 has the same problem. So it appears to be a slip-up on HTC's part.

Any chance of you perhaps snatching it from 2.1 and fixing it for 2.2? :D

Thanks for your continued hard work!! :D

@Paul

You are the man!

Re: Chinese Handwriting issue

I checked the Hong Kong version of FroYo (test version) and looks like it is also missing there, so I guess this issue cannot be fixed at this moment.

Re: APN Backup and Restore

I can use APN Backup and Restore to dupe all APNs from r5 and export to r8, and so far it is working correctly but not flawlessly... F/C a few times before reboot.

Hi all,

You'll have to excuse me, don't quite know where to post this or where to find what I need, I'm a total noob to the phone side of things.

So far I have read a truckload of pages, then baked a rom (r8 from the start of this thread). I have a HTC Desire (unlocked) from telstra (Australia) with HBOOT 0.83.001 and Radio 4.00.00.09, dated June 10, 2010 (from power-on with back key depressed)

**In phone->settings->about I get the following information

Firmware: 2.1-update1 Baseband version: 32.41.00.32U_4.08.00.09 Kernel Version: 2.6.29-7f50e581 htc-kernel@and18-2 # 1 Build Number: 1.25.841.5 CL197233 release-keys

Software number: 1.25.841.5 Browser Version: WebKit 3.1

That's all, I am now stuck, I have searched for "rooting" the phone, and am now really confused, don't know if it can be done on the 0.83 version of HBOOT or where to start.

any help would be greatly appreciated - has someone done a tutorial on this that I've missed, or am I as daft as I feel :D

Thanks.

How about an additional option when I press the power button to reboot the phone?

Maybe i'm missing something, but please explain me, why do you want to have applications, or updates of applications built in the rom, which can be downloaded via market ?

I'm using linux since a few years, but this is the part that i most like, to update things myself. Check for new apps, packages, download and install them :D This why i don't get the point.

On the whole, I agree, the exceptions are things that are in there already so may as well be updated (like flash) and thinks you want to use before you fully set up your device (like Titanium Backup).

Added option to disable IPv6 at startup.
