I de-selected the unmodified and added the modified..

Maps does not show up at all now.

No wipe, but i just installed on top of r8.

This is likely because of the cert difference between stock and modified.

1 min and i'll tell you what you need to do to fix it. :D

So is the way to go.... De-select unmodified and select modified?

Thanks

To fix:

  • Download this APK
  • Install via 'adb install Maps.r8.apk'
  • Uninstall via 'adb uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps'
  • Reflash the ROM

You should then be set!

(this is the alternative method to a wipe!)

So if i bake a ROM like this, then do a full wipe and then flash the ROM everything will be ok?

Sorry to keep asking i just wasnt sure if i needed to install that apk like in your post.

Thanks

Thank Paul for nice rom. It is very good but I've some small problems:

- I baked Trackpad Wake Only function, and stock lock screen. The menu button unlocks the screen, what I not really like. Can you please fix it?

- There is a standard Android Contacts app baked in, but sorting and search function just not work. (The sorting of names just remain what is the display name in People app. does not matter what I'm choosing in Android Contacts) I've reported it several times in old kichens as well. Is that just my problem ? Can somebody explain it?

Thank you!

I need to do this via recovery?

c:\android\android-sdk-windows\tools>adb install Maps.r8.apk

1382 KB/s (3993703 bytes in 2.820s)

/sbin/sh: pm: not found
c:\android\android-sdk-windows\tools>adb uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps

/sbin/sh: pm: not found

Does this look right?

@Paul

Thanks for all the updates/fixes :D

I have tried 5x to download from the kitchen, each time generating 450-500MB files, any help appreciated. Previously they have been about 150MB.

I am on Delia server

Thanks

Strange, just baked on Delia and got a regular size file.

I wonder if it's an issue with an option you're including...?

OK thanks Paul I will try with just the default options

Thanks :D

EDIT: Have just tried with default selection and it is fine 160MB. It must have been one of the options.

Just checked with HTC World Clock and it can live safely with out the \System\etc\clockwidget folder graphics, these are only for the Widget, which again can be removed when removing sense without interupting WorkldClock.

(and found out I was forgetting to add HTC Facebook sync to fully test Peep and Friendstream working correctly with the Friendstream widget removed, i was already wondering why a few contact picks where missing)

Noted, will move in next kitchen change (shortly).

I may have found my problem, have just created a ROM with my original options selected without the following 2:

enabled "Advanced - 802.11N " and deselected "Disable 802.11N WiFi support"

and now the file size is back to 160MB

Thanks Paul :D

Did you also note my previous post with all the unneeded widgets?

I'm still checking on the friendstream widget, HTC Facebook & HTCTwitter cooperation.
