Guest Martijn D Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Hello All, I've bought the "Vodafone 845 nova" a week ago, for my first android experience. after installing some apps and using this phone, I wanted to know how to get rid of the annoying and buggy Vodafone apps like the browser and the simtoolkit and the not working e-mail app. After some research I found out that I need root access or an custom rom. Can anyone help me? I've found an link to the official roms: http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwide/down...p;softwareName= Greets Martijn

Guest Case_ Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) freddyemmer: May I ask how did you manage to get a working boot.img repack? I'm pulling my hair out here trying to boot my own kernel compile on VF845. I've tried all the suggestions for Pulse Mini, tried some things on my own (like veryfing the memory offset value and the values in the new boot.img header) but all I get is bootloop (even before the first "android" logo shows). Even if I just get your boot.img a repack it, it doesn't boot...what tools did you use and how exactly? Thanks for any tip you can share. Edited August 8, 2010 by Case_
Guest freddyemmer Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 I followed this topic Maybe i can include your kernel in my rom? what did you modified?
Guest Case_ Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Thanks for replying. However, that guide doesn't work for me. Either it's because of the header editing (my kernel has different size, so I can't just rewrite the header according to the previously working boot.img as suggested) or I really screwed something up and it simply doesn't boot... Anyway, I did not modify much, just a few settings here and there (like the default scheduler). I just wanted to test a few things before I perhaps add some real modifications. And of course, if I ever make it work, you'll be free to use it wherever you like :D (we're talking open source, after all :) ) I'll try to dig in a bit more. Thanks again.
Guest freddyemmer Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 maybe they can help you on XDA? there are people who have made many kernels..
