Guest Pakatus Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 @8230 we dont have a trackball with led, but... We have 4 buttons with a light led. I wonder if someone out here, knows a way to make them blink when we have some warnings (as sms, unanswered calls...). Props to someone that can find this out.

If you search in this forum, you will find a post about an app for alerting of an incoming SMS with flashing light. Not sure if it eventually worked or available to download.

Guest Pakatus Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 (edited) was thinking in something more generic, as HTC Magic...has the blinking led to any notification. Edited July 23, 2010 by Pakatus
Guest Bendolfc Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 The first release worked, but wasn't 100% reliable.
Guest Tim0o Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 The first release worked, but wasn't 100% reliable. Yes great idea, You have your pulse on the coffee table its on silent and not around when it vibrated the button lights are blinking.... Pick it up start reading and its.........................spam email :(
Guest craigb244 Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 the lights flash when the phone is updating so there must be a way to do it :(
Guest menno2 Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 I would totaalllllllly support this idea, and donate for proper implementation. I understood from the old thread, that there is only one LED in the pulse, so its either illumuniation the whole lower part (green and red and menu and back) or nothing. Well to be honest I rather have that whole part lit when i have sms/email than nothing. I dont wear my phone in my pocket whole day long.
Guest Basher52 Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 I need this flash LED too, since my old Nokia E51 informend me that way. I miss sms and email realy often if i forget to swtisch from silent to normal sound theme. Go on boys, ill need it :(
Guest rikkiej Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 Just a couple of days after this new tread was started I noticed this little thing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730692 It's an applications developed for Samsung galaxy S which also doesn't have a LED. It makes a little red pixel appear when a notification is received. It works with the pulse! Only problem: It turns on the entire screen = consuming power.... But the general idea is good and I think some coder should be able to Mod it to work with the LED's in the pulse since they light too!! Greatings

I already used HTC Hero and the notification led on trackball is very useful... If this feature can be applied on buttons illumination will be wonderful. I tried NoLED application and doesn't work on my Huawei U8230 @ FLB, maybe because it was designed to run on LED screen. Does anyone make some step in its development? regards from portugal

It should be as simple as changing the device names in the aosp lights library. Watch the froyo dev discussion for progress. I didn't realise how good notification lights were until I got the X10. If I went back to using the Pulse as my main phone that would probably be the one thing I would miss most. Edited September 6, 2010 by Tom G

Greatings It has an amoled screen, so it wouldn't consume much more power since only that pixel consumes power! As far as I know the pulse doesn't! :P
