Guest dennerjw Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Nothing to worry about. How hot is it wherever you are in canada? if its hot and humid your phone will get hotter. If you're wondering whether 40 C is enough to cause any damage, you're in the clear because it would have to get much hotter than that before you'd even have to start worrying.
Guest Dona' Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 If you read the message on the battery (WARNING) you can read that it's not supposed to get hotter than 60°, so there's nothing to worry about.
Guest Liquidini Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 here in greece with 39 degrees outside and with plastic case around it the temp is around 30c idle and can get 40-42 when playing with it

Guest alan090 Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 Buy and nstall SetCPU and clock your phone way down. My Liquid E only gets warm to touch when charging. Yea I set special setcpu profiles but my temps have gone upto 48ish when I was playnig homerun battle 3d while charging - that is a little too hot and I try to avoid playing games while charging now ;P
Guest judeh101 Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 I have a Rogers Liquid E too, and it does get quite warm to the touch. It has gone beyond 45C before and the battery automatically cuts off charging. You'll get a warning sign on the battery icon saying it's too hot.

I guess I should be careful too... But I think the undervolted kernel helps.
Guest bahamut54321 Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 This is a major flaw in the liquid's design: overheating. I was planning to use google navigation as my main GPS system but when I use it plugged in my lighter socket, the battery indicator shows an exclamtion mark for overheating and if I don't plug the phone, the battery drains out really fast... I think i'm gonna sale my liquid for a Galaxy S because of this problem...

I'm also concerned with my liquid right now but am just thinking that all android phones could have this problem specially while surfing..

Unlike the liquid for which i have seen lots of posts regarding overheating. Though i saw them i did not think it was gonna stop me from using google navigation...
