Guest Navalynt Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 I've actually been able to boot up a few of the 2.1 and 2.2 ROMs on the CDMA Desire by replacing the boot.img file with one from my stock OS after pulling it from a nandroid. Unfortunately under 2.2 I can't get anywhere because the core system force closes and under 2.1 I can't get the radio or camera to work. I'm assuming this is all related to the Kernel. I know how to tinker a little with the filesystem but I'm completely lost when it comes to working on a kernel. Is anyone willing to help me out with this? I would love to get some support out there for the CDMA Desire before it launches on the smaller regional carriers in the US at the end of August.
Guest PaulW21781 Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 From a working ROM (stock CDMA ideally) Can you do me a dump of the contents of /system/lib/modules and /system/etc/firmware please :( Also, can you upload the boot.img which is working somewhere?? I'll try have a look see whats different and see if I can get a CDMA-compatible kernel made up for you to test.

Guest PaulW21781 Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 I've had a quick look through my kernel source thismorning while adding HAVS support, it appears that there are specific entries for CDMA support not included within the Bravo vendor sources... Will need to compare against more as I get time :(
Guest Navalynt Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 From what I understand this is sort of a "frankenphone". The main guts are from the Incredible but it's stuffed in a Desire body with a 5MP camera

I have a CDMA Desire from a Regional US carrier (Cellular South) If I can be of any assistence please let me know. I would love to run MoDaCo as my everyday ROM if possible.
Guest Phocas Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Does Paul plan on supporting the CDMA Desire? I am rooted with S-Off and would rather run Modaco as an everyday ROM
