acer liquid kernel compile

Hello,

i have read many messages and how to in the forum and over internet about kernel compiling for android.

I have a problem with a kernel that i have compiled.

I tried this kernel: http://gitorious.org/liquidproject/phhussons-kernel

I have used the default .config file in the repository.

I made correctly the zImage and then the boot.img for my Acer Liquid.

When i power up my phone, after the Acer logo, the screen remain blank and the phone became very hot!

Anyone can help me?

There is another kernel source i can use on my Acer Liquid?

Make sure you downloaded the eclair branch and not the master...

I have used the master branch.

I don't know how download the eclair branch before the AVS patch.

I used this command:

git clone git://gitorious.org/~phhusson/liquidproject/phhussons-kernel.git

Which commands i must use?

Just learn to use Git... google for it.

Oh I was talking about phhusson's liquide kernel. That's the other one you can use.

If i browse the gitorius site, about the phhussons kernel i see only the master branch...

Otherwise, do you tell me a compiled kernel with netfilter and good battery duration (no overclock).

nvm about fastboot boot test. Just flashed an image that booted properly but was not accepted by fastboot boot.

This kernel is for liquid E edition, it's working also for not E edition?

I read that the not E edition must have the compache.

Liquid and Liquid E has the same hardware (just more ram for E) so it will work on both phones.

Compcache isn't enabled on default on both Liquid/Liquid E

Both kernels work on both phones, but the booting old kernel on a new E results in loss of RAM reported
