Guest fashion_m Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 (edited) Hi, guys, I tried to charge my i900 via USB PC connection, but after 4 hours (woow) battery increased from 20% to only 50%. And after that, my battery started to act really strange - it has shorter life. And the big indicator in Settings --> Power is not increasing during crarging. For example, if I plug it in the charger when it is 20%, the indicator stays at 20% throughout all the cgharging process, and after I disconnect the charger it jumsp to 100%. What's wrong? Latter part of your statement says you also tried to charge your batt using the wall charger? If it acts the same, then your batt maybe damaged.
Guest fashion_m Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 So, after a lot of tests and observations, here is my conclusion: Do not charge the phone via PC USB connection. It somehow disrupts the charging "habits" of the phone. Battery capacity decreases and the charging indicator becomes disrupted. When you plug in the phone, the indicator stays at the same low level all the time throughout charging, and it goes to 100% (or sometimes 90%) only after you disconnect the cable. So I made Hard Reset. I am glad, that this solved my problem. Now it loooks like that the battery last as long as before the USB PC charging. And I am happy :(
Guest andrew.mazlim Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Charge your phone via cable, mate. But! You can install the Favorite Hack Omnia cab and enable a setting for USB charging; but actually, it doesn't change TOTALY, 100%! So... use cable, always.
Guest mykls Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Make sure that the driver for the Omnia is installed on the PC you are charging from. PC USB ports are configured to provide a small amount of power to unconfigured devices, but once the device is configured by the installation of a driver to the PC the USB port can then provide the full 2.5 watts required to charge the phone.

I connect my device in "Mass storage" mode. Windows successfully recognizes it as "SGH-i900" and no driver is required. If I need a driver even for this simple thing... man, that's sooo retarded and non-flexible. Damn, Samsung. Edited July 29, 2010 by fashion_m

I didn't install ANY kind of drivers for my i900, except ActiveSys app and the drivers for flashing. Nothing else! Obviously is something wrong with your device, if you need drivers for everything.
