Guest britbloke Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 (edited) Hey everyone, brand new to the Acer Liquid E (I originally bought one cheap with the plan to sell it on, but got a little hooked on it!). Anyway, I've flashed to Liquid Community ROM v1.7.2 and everything was good for a short while. Then, when running an app I was getting a ton of glitches; notification bar sliding down really randomly and very fast, homescreen panning left and right quickly. Basically just random swipes, selections, ect as if someone was playing with the phone, but it was happening very quickly. It's almost as if the touchscreen has a life of it's own! It also happens when I'm using Google Nav without me actually touching the screen for a few minutes. I've tried booting into recovery and wiping cache and more, but it didn't solve the problem. What I usually do is wait a few minutes (it can continue for 2 or 3 mins, maybe more) and then it seems to settle down. But then it can start again without warning. It was driving me crazy so I flashed with Xian v0.9. It has been a lot more stable in the few hours I've been playing with it, but it did do the "glitching" once on me this morning. Is this a common problem with the Liquid? Any ideas on how I can fix this? Edited July 24, 2010 by britbloke
Guest Rajit Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 strange.. been using mine for six months, and this never happened to me...
Guest britbloke Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 Really? I'm going to try another flash tonight back to LCR 1.7.2. If it happens again I'll video it.

If it happens again I'll video it. good luck with that... it could be because lcr was designed based on eclair leaks and u are using liquid e.. but i don't know, it could also be something else.. if the problem persists, consult malez
Guest xaueious Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 (edited) If you have the Liquid E, give my kernel a shot and flash it. It might help a little with the heat. Edited July 24, 2010 by xaueious
Guest malez Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 (edited) Really? I'm going to try another flash tonight back to LCR 1.7.2. If it happens again I'll video it. Reinstall LCR 1.7.2 You sensivity must be too high and you screen is too sensible By default sensivity is set to 75 the less the value is, the more screen is sensible. You can try to reduce it using this command from your computer adb shell sensitive.sh 90 If the screen does not respond well, descrese the value if the screen is to responsive, increase the value Have you installed a "plastic" protection on your screen (sorry i am not sure of the word) ? I have seen this king of problem only one a phone without protection. Never happened to me What is your baseband version ? Edited July 24, 2010 by malez
Guest Calcvictim Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 try cleaning the screen really well, maybe a mild detergent on a cloth I used to have that hapen with my iphone 2g if it got dirty

I don't have a screen protector, no. I will try to reflash LCR again tonight and adjust the sensitivity as you suggested. My baseband version is A1.04.01.01
Guest scrap2434 Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 I had the same issue. It was screen Sensitivity. Adjust it to 75/75 and all is good again
Guest Chadski Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 strange.. been using mine for six months, and this never happened to me... LCR 1.7.2 had just been released recently. How come you have used it for six months?
Guest dennerjw Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 LCR 1.7.2 had just been released recently. How come you have used it for six months? I think he has used his Liquid for six months...
Guest Rajit Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 I think he has used his Liquid for six months... exactly!!
Guest xaueious Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 It might be a kernel bug. Specifically with binder.c I've been using my own built kernels and noticed that this might be one of the causes.
Guest britbloke Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 I used malez trick of reducing the sensitivity to 90 using adb and I haven't had the problem since, touch wood. I wonder why this isn't a more common problem? Is it because I'm using the Liquid E? Maybe the screen is slightly different.

Hey man, this happened to my phone too, and I've tried malez's trick and it works wonders.
Guest xaueious Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Dunno. I never had your issue until I messed with my kernel's binder.c
Guest Gryx Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 I had it too after changing the sensitivity. Just changed the values and could use my phone normally again.
